Missy McGrath fell in love with catering — and with chocolate — as a young girl in San Diego. She was introduced into the lifestyle by her mother, a professional caterer who has an education in food service and a gift for making fine desserts. By age 13, Missy was busing tables and serving wedding cakes in her mother’s thriving business. Missy expanded her culinary repertoire and her catering abilities as she raised her own family of four boys in Draper Utah. 

In 1992, Missy created Dessert First, a special event catering business serving the Wasatch Front. Following her mother’s recipe, she created the succulent signature piece: a tall chocolate mousse cake covered with hand curled white chocolate.

Utah Chocolate Fountains launched in 2002 and was the original and first large commercial fountain rental company in Utah. It was an immediate success became the standard for all that followed. Other rental companies have come and gone over the past 8 past years, but Utah Chocolate Fountains is a consistent favorite with elegant fountains, dependable attention to detail, unique personal service and strong commitment to excellence.

Missy thrives on making your event dazzling, warm and memorable, whether at large special events or an intimate gathering. She offers world class Belgium Callebaut chocolate at every event...as well as her smile, professionalism and expertise.

When Missy isn't catering she enjoys running, travel, a good book, and baking at home — but not all at the same time.
